So, I bought my switch 2 here. New. Full price. In the shop itself. Traveled to home (don’t live that close) to find out the free screen protector wasn’t with it. I called, they put it in the back on my name. Can happen, we are all human and forget things. Came home to find out the switch was acting weirdly. Didn’t start up, only charged directly on cable. After few days it still did the same. So I decided to come back and they checked the device. ‘You didn’t press the button hard enough’ was the answer of the tech savvy guy. He clearly stated it was in perfect condition. I mumbled and gave in. Don’t tell me a €450 device of few days old need a cable to kickstart it… still has juice in the battery. Docking wasn’t doing it aswel. Yea. ‘Perfect condition’. Sure 😒. So just before work I came in -6 days later. I demanded a refund or a new product. Clearly this device is defective. The tech savvy new guy -way better guy- told me 10 min later that indeed the battery itself is defective. I told them I want a new product. Hear me out. He told me they CAN NOT DO. So, sold me a broken switch and I had to wait whenever Nintendo send them a replacement. Because they don’t do it. Normally I as a customer need to access Nintendo for the warranty. But they will do it for me -as kindness. Same with giving me a loan switch untill mine is fixed or Nintendo send them a new one so I can pick it up. Later on work my friend came in and I told him about this situation. Almost in tears. He said that they didn’t handle this correctly. Almost scammy. So he dragged me towards them and with shaking hands I gave him my switch. He knows about all the legal stuff, all the tech stuff aswel. Very smart guy. My friend knew from instantly they lied about all the ‘rules’. Like I said. Scammy. We heard about this older guy saying that I have ‘8 days’ to swap a product if it’s broken. They can not give my money back. I multiple times told him it’s been 7 days. I bought it the 16th. Receipts in my hand. A whole heated conversation later -which gameshop don’t handle the Dutch law correctly - they finally gave in and grabbed a new console for me. Let me tell you, we almost contacted a lawyer on hand to demand them to handle the Dutch law. To protect us as customer. They can not handle their own law, even stated on their website. To find out that the switch I bought -the defective one- is a used one. Probably a broken console put back to sell… or mistaken, but still. Very odd. Very questionable. I know it’s used because this switch was not charged, had a black background and wasn’t equipped with a HDMI cable in the box. Also wrapping was different than the switch I have now. They sold me a defective one. Yep. To hide behind their made up law. Basically scamming you from your money. And whenever you come back they try to question yourself and hoping it will be past those 8 days of that ridiculous l aw they invented Luckily I have a new console. Still am pissed that I have extra work to contact Nintendo to transfer some data and which i basically can not play games at this moment. Skip this shop. Please. It such a hassle to get your rights as a customer. They do on purpose make you wait so it’s past the 8 days. Which basically sucks, because they rely on customers for their business. Just to handle like this makes me icky. Sometimes it’s not the best to support small businesses, go to big stores with better services. Not this one. One star is even ridiculous high.
I’ve bought gaming consoles accessories and games from sellers in almost every major city in the Netherlands, and unfortunately this has been by far my worst experience. I ordered a PS5 30th Anniversary controller on January 4th. Their website clearly stated that it would be shipped the next day, yet my order was delayed by 8 days. After several emails back and forth about where my package is, they offered me a 10 euro discount code as compensation. I finally received the package on January 12th. And unsurprisingly, that’s where things got even worse. The package had clearly been opened before. The controller was poorly repackaged and it was impossible to tell whether it was new or used. At the time of ordering, the website listed both new and used versions of the same product, and I am 100% convinced that I was sent a used item while paying the full new product price. I sent them another email explaining the situations with screenshots the response was basically “sorry” followed by an offer of additional €5 discount on top of the previous €10, or the option to return the product. I explained that the discount should at least reflect the price difference between a new and a used controller. They refused. At that point I was honestly exhausted and decided to keep the controller just to be done with it. As a final cherry on top, they later informed me that they would not even apply the extra €5 discount they had promised although I told them I decided to keep it. I almost never leave negative reviews, because it’s usually not worth the energy. But this was truly a one of a kind experience, and not in a good way. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before ordering from this store. If you can find same product at alternative stores go buy it there
I am truly disappointed with the Gameshop. I purchased a product there, only to realize later the same day that I couldn’t use it. Even though less than 24 hours had passed and the item was still completely unused, I was firmly refused a return or refund. The customer service was neither cooperative nor interested in finding a solution. Instead, I was simply told that “nothing could be done.” For a store that promotes itself as customer-friendly, this is extremely disappointing. I’ve decided that I won’t be shopping there again, and based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend the Gameshop.
We received excellent advice regarding Pokémon cards and the gameplay of the card game. The friendly employee, by his own account, was in a good mood and gave my two children generous gifts; I am very grateful for this kind gesture. You made two children happy. Downstairs, we then took some Japanese Pokémon cards from the vending machine. It certainly won't be our last visit. We would gladly come again. Thank you for the kind gesture.
