Terms of Service — CheckShop.eu

1. Acceptance

By using CheckShop.eu, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Services

CheckShop.eu provides automated trust verification for online shops, including: website scanning, trust score calculation, review collection, and trust badge display. Our services are available to consumers (free) and online shops (free and paid plans).

3. Shop Registration

When registering a shop, you confirm that: (a) you are authorized to represent the business, (b) all information provided is accurate, (c) you consent to automated scanning of your website. Providing false information may result in account suspension.

4. Trust Scores

Trust scores are calculated automatically based on technical checks and customer reviews. Scores are indicative and do not constitute a guarantee of a shop's trustworthiness. We reserve the right to adjust scoring criteria. Shop owners may appeal specific checks through the dashboard.

5. Reviews

Reviews must be based on genuine experiences. Fake reviews, spam, defamatory content, or reviews containing personal data of third parties are prohibited. We reserve the right to moderate, flag, or remove reviews. Shop owners may respond to reviews but may not pressure customers to change or remove reviews.

6. Trust Badge

The CheckShop.eu badge may only be displayed on verified domains. The badge displays real-time data and may change based on monitoring results. Displaying the badge on unverified domains or manipulating the badge display is prohibited.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. All prices are in EUR and exclude VAT. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and will remain active until the end of the billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Prohibited Use

You may not: (a) use our services for illegal purposes, (b) attempt to manipulate trust scores, (c) scrape our data without permission, (d) impersonate another business, (e) interfere with our systems.

9. Limitation of Liability

CheckShop.eu provides trust scores as informational tools. We are not liable for: decisions made based on trust scores, losses arising from shop interactions, or temporary service unavailability. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for our services in the preceding 12 months.

10. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by EU law. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved through direct communication. If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.

11. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated via email.
